Macmillan English DictionaryEr din MED elektronisk ordborg holdt op med at fungere efter en Windows Update i august 2006? I begyndelsen af august 2006 udsendte Microsoft en automatisk update (KB917422), som har den virkning at en lang række elektroniske opslagsværker ikke vil starte. Macmillan English Dictionary er hårdt ramt samt produkter fra an lang række andre forlag (f.eks. Gyldendal's Store danske Encyklopædi). Nu er der en løsning på problemet:
Du kan downloade “hotfix” KB924867 direkte fra Microsoft's website ved at klikke på den link der svarer til din udgave af Windows. KB924867 er et lille program som du skal downloade og køre: Windows XP Windows 2000 Windows Server 2003 Windows XP x64 Edition Windows Server 2003 x64 Edition Windows Server 2003 for Itanium-based Systems
De fleste af jer får behov for enten den danske eller den norske udgave af KB924867 — dem vælger man ved at bruge Change Language menuen.
Vær specielt opmærksom på at KB924867 kun må installeres på maskiner hvor KB917422 allerede er installeret.Futurum beklager den store ulejlighed som KB917422 har været årsag til. Desværre har det været uden for vores kontrol.
NB! The new April 2007 edition of the CD-Rom will not have this problem!
Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English:If you have installed Quicktime 7 and LDOCE doesn’t start or the sound and video don’t work, please download the following: ldoce4v2_patch.zip
Extract/unzip the file and double click it
Follow the on-screen instructions
You should get a message confirming the patch has been successfully applied.
LDOCE audio and video should now work OK.NB! The new January 2007 edition of the CD-Rom will not have this problem!
Advanced Learner's Dictionary Compass CD-Rom: QuickTime 7 can be the cause of an error message "Quicktime plug-in requires the Quicktime system extension version 5 or later" when starting the OALD7 Compass CD-ROM. The Compass CD-ROM was developed before QuickTime 7 was released, and there are some incompatibilities which can be fixed as follows:
If it is open, close the OALD7 Compass application.
Download the no_QT_patch_OALD7.zip patch file
Unzip the zip file and run the enclosed file patch_OALD7.exe
